Online Courses: A number of people have asked if NSARC is going to offer an online course. We have no plans to offer an online Basic Course at this time but RAC has just announced an Online Basic Course starting 16-Apr-2020.
Details at https://www.rac.ca/basic-radio-course/
Unfortunately access to the classroom at NSEM is currently restricted due to COVID-19. The Basic Course will only run if access to the classroom is restored before May.
Morse code is no longer required. Pass the Basic exam with 80% or better and receive full access to the High Frequency (short-wave) bands. Alternatively, pass the Basic exam with 70-79% and the 5wpm Morse exam for the same HF privileges.
