The MCP has been emptied of all equipment and is officially retired as of today, March 1st 2017. The frame had become rusty to the point of being unsafe. The unit is being towed to auction later this week per City Fleet guidelines.
NSEM and the Emergency Communications team had many years of good service and a number of successful events operating from this vehicle.
The NSEM intends to pursue a replacement for the MCP, likely in a future budget year. Thanks for everyone who helped maintain and operate the unit over the years.
Thanks to North Shore Rescue for originally supplying their former command post for our use, we value the contribution NSR made to emergency communications on the North Shore.
