Remote VHF Radio with David Petter VE7EHL

David presented a different take on remote VHF radio using a Raspberry Pi and a used RadioShack VHF radio from a swap meet. The project lets an operator talk over the air through an internet connection from a cell phone, almost like a personal EchoLink setup. The presentation touched RF, micro-computers, analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog audio paths, audio filtering, networking, VPNs, internet connectivity, and ISED regulations, with the end goal of being able to operate the radio from as far away as the other side of the Pacific Ocean.
